Gift Management Policy Statement

IBFIM is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, ethical conduct, and professionalism in all its business dealings. The Gift Management Policy is established to ensure that all forms of gifts, entertainment, travel, and hospitality, whether given or received, are managed ethically and in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, in particular the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009.

This policy requires members of the Board, Management and all employees of IBFIM to demonstrate the highest standards of ethics and conduct in their dealings with third parties, to maintain ethical working and business relationships and to avoid any actual or perceived conflicts of interest.

The policy also aims to safeguard IBFIM’s reputation and maintain public confidence by ensuring that gifts, entertainment, travel and hospitality do not create actual, potential or perceived conflicts of interest or improperly influence business decisions and professional judgement.

IBFIM personnel shall not, whether directly or indirectly, give, receive or accept any gifts, except under the following circumstances:

  1. Gifts that are modest and customary in nature (e.g. food hampers during festive seasons);
  2. Gifts of token value (e.g. company souvenirs, calendars);
  3. Gifts given or received in an official capacity during formal events or ceremonies; or
  4. Gifts with a value of RM300 or below, provided that such gifts are properly disclosed in accordance with the policy requirements.

This Policy Statement shall be read together with the Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy, Code of Business Ethics and Whistleblowing Policy of IBFIM.
